Each year, over 2 million Americans experience a stroke or sustain a head injury. But, the news isn’t all bad: many stroke survivors make a full recovery with no or minor long-term effects.
Once a patient returns home from the hospital or rehabilitation center, VRNS provides support services for continued rehabilitation in the home. Depending on the patient’s needs, this may include:
Physical therapy to help restore physical functioning and treat problems with movement, balance, strength and coordination.
Occupational therapy to help relearn or develop adaptive strategies for performing the skills of daily living, such as eating, walking, toileting, dressing and more.
Speech therapy to regain language and communication skills and address problems with swallowing.
Mental health support to help the patient cope with emotional and behavioral changes that sometimes occur after a stroke.
