Each year, over 2 million Americans experience a stroke or sustain a head injury. But, the news isn’t all bad: many stroke survivors make a full recovery with no or minor long-term effects.

Once a patient returns home from the hospital or rehabilitation center, VRNS provides support services for continued rehabilitation in the home. Depending on the patient’s needs, this may include:

  • Physical therapy to help restore physical functioning and treat problems with movement, balance, strength and coordination.

  • Occupational therapy to help relearn or develop adaptive strategies for performing the skills of daily living, such as eating, walking, toileting, dressing and more.

  • Speech therapy to regain language and communication skills and address problems with swallowing.

  • Mental health support to help the patient cope with emotional and behavioral changes that sometimes occur after a stroke.
